The Organization
Wach Consuultants is a medium sized practice of Certified Public Accountants registered and operating under the Accountants Act Chapter 15 of 2008 – laws of Kenya.
The firm was registered in the year 2014 out of merger of Mungai Wainaina & Company and Achode & Company, whose proprietors, Mungai Wainaina and Benjamin Achode have been practicing auditors in their own right since 1996. Wach Consultants complies with and adheres to the following international standards:
- International Standards on Quality Control
- International Standards on Auditing
- Code of Ethics as issued by the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants
The firm specializes in business advice and consultation, tax planning and accounting and financial auditing services and in governance audits. Our range of professional services includes among others:

Mr. Fredrick M. Wainaina, CPA (K), CPS (K)
Founding Partner
He specializes in auditing, investigations, accounting, tax consultancy, VAT, business development, management, financial, recruitment staffing and information technology services.
Mr. Wainaina is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya since 1986 and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya since 1990.
Mr. Wainaina is currently pursuing Executive Masters of Business Administration from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology.
He has attended many senior management seminars locally organized by Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), KHI and Computer consultants. Internationally he has attended two months course in Witswatersland University (South Africa) for an advanced management course in strategic management.
Between 1976 and 1983, he worked for Githongo & Company where he held positions of Management Trainee, Audit Senior and Audit Manager. Between 1978 and 1983 he worked for Local Authorities in Nairobi City Council and Eldoret Municipal Council and was involved in local authority audits. Wainaina gained a lot of experience in auditing tea factories as Githongo was the main auditor of most of the tea factories then.
While in Mbaya & Associates between 1983 and 1984 he held the position of Audit Manager.
Between 1984 and 1994 he worked for Metal Box Kenya Limited, and Security Printers Limited as finance and Administration manager.
Between 1994 and 2000 he worked as Deputy General manager-finance in First Assurance Company Limited
In the year 2001, He formed the auditing firm of Mungai Wainaina and Company which joined with Achode and Company to form Wach Consultant in 2015.
Mr. Benjamin Achode Malingu, BCom, CPA (K), FCPS (K), EMBA
Founding Partner
Mr. Achode holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree Accounting option, from Nairobi University (1981), an Executive Master of Business Administration from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (2016) , is an accredited Governance auditor (since 2016) , a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya since 1986 and a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, He has been a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, since 1987.
He has attended several seminars locally organized by both the Institute of Certified Accountants and Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and internationally, attended a two week Regional Unilever Seminar in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1995.
He specializes in external auditing, outsourced internal auditing, special investigations, taxation, VAT consultancy, company secretarial, financial, management consultancy services and Governance Audits.
Prior to engaging in Private Accounting Practice he had worked for 13 years, between 1983 and 1996, in the then Brooke Bond Kenya Limited (now part Unilever Group of Companies). While in Brook Bond he held various senior management positions, including the position of Management Accountant, in Kericho, Senior Internal Auditor for the Group and Commercial Manager / Financial Controller, based in Mombasa. He had earlier worked as an Auditor in price Waterhouse between 1981 and 1983.
Joyce Karanja – Senior Auditor
Joyce is a CPA finalist and a BCOM Finance option graduate with experience spanning to 15 years. She has gained vast experience while working with companies like Samchi Telecommunication, West-Build General Contractors, Avenue Fresh Produce Limited, Kigo Njenga & Company and Blue Springs Hotel Limited. She has been in Senior Finance and general Management Positions while working with this companies. In Wach Consultants, Joyce is incharge of coordinating audit jobs and various tax related issues.
Caroline Njambi- Systems Analyst
Miss Caroline is a graduate in Bachelor of Business in Information Technology (BBIT) from Multimedia University of Kenya. She handles ICT governance issues. She also specializes provision of company secretarial services available on a consultancy basis that covers all compliance of private companies, Public Companies as well as general Businesses to the Registrar of Companies. .
Evans Thiong'o - Senior Auditor
Evans is an Accountant/ Auditor with CPA K and has over ten years working experience in the profession. He has worked with Jubilee Feeds as an audit manager. His responsibilities include: Performing and supervising a broad range of auditing, tax and accounting issues; planning and coordinating the various phases of the field work.
CPA Christopher Njoroge - Auditor
Christopher is a CPA K. He has over twenty five years working experience in the profession. He has worked with Kenya Army as a senior accountant. In Wach Consultants, Christpher is rensponsible for all tax related issues and coordinating various audit jobs.
Sarah Rael Simbiri- B.com, CPA(K)
Sarah is an Accountant with five years experience in Financial Audits. Her responsibilities include: Performing and supervising a broad range of auditing, tax and accounting issues; planning and coordinating the various phases of the field work such as staff requirements..
Morris Mutugi - CPA (K)
Morris is an Accountant with five year experience in Financial Audits. His responsibilities include: Performing tax and accounting issues; planning and coordinating the various phases of the field work such as staff requirements.

Management
The firm is run by a board of management comprising two full time partners, and two equally experienced consultants. The Partners operate as the divisional heads, with the staff and consultants working under them for guidance and coordination of the operations of the firm to effectively provide services to our diverse range of clients.
